The MFSA has introduced a new notification requirement for individuals providing directorship and/or company secretary services not by way of business, under recent amendments to the Company Service Providers Act (Act X of 2025).
These individuals, now classified as Restricted Company Service Providers (RCSPs), are required to notify the MFSA of their roles by submitting a notification form through the MFSA’s Licence Holder Portal. This applies to those holding up to five such involvements and not doing so ‘by way of business’.
A transitory period has been granted, with the deadline to regularise existing positions set for 16 July 2025.
A one-time notification fee of €50 applies.
Certain categories of individuals are exempt from both authorisation and notification.
