Malta Update
UPDATE NUMBER 03/2024/01
The European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (‘EFRAG’) has been tasked by the European Commission to create digital taxonomies for the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (‘ESRS’). Approval for the drafting of the ESRS Set 1 XBRL Taxonomy was granted on January 10, 2024. This taxonomy will facilitate the digital labeling of ESRS statements. EFRAG is also developing a Draft XBRL Taxonomy for Taxonomy Regulation Article 8 Disclosures.
EFRAG released two public consultations on February 8, 2024. One for the Draft XBRL Taxonomy for ESRS Set 1, and the other for the Draft XBRL Taxonomy for Article 8 Disclosures. The purpose is to gather input to finalize these taxonomies, with adjustments based on the feedback received. Additional technical documents are available on EFRAG’s website to assist respondents in formulating their responses.
