The election was formally confirmed during ABL’s 50th Conference, held in Vienna, Austria, from 27 to 30 May 2026. Hosted by Willems Schmidt Advocaten & Rechtsanwälte at the Grand Hotel Wien, the milestone conference brought together legal professionals, industry experts, and member firms from more than 30 jurisdictions to discuss key developments shaping the global legal and business landscape.
The conference programme featured high-level discussions on a range of contemporary legal and commercial topics, including sustainability, artificial intelligence in legal practice, cross-border investigations, international cooperation, mediation, arbitration, and the future of dispute resolution. Delegates also participated in a number of institutional and cultural events that reflected the significance of ABL’s 50th conference, including a visit to the Austrian Constitutional Court and a gala dinner at Vienna’s renowned Kunsthistorisches Museum.
