Malta’s everlasting vocation, as a centuries-old trading post in the middle of the Mediterranean, to act as the melting pot of conventional finance and the workings of Islamic finance has been highlighted in an article penned by David Zahra for the November issue of Business Islamica, a monthly magazine published in the Middle East specifically covering all aspects of Islamic business and finance both regionally and internationally.

The article gives an overview of the developments in Malta relating to Islamic funds in recent years, with particular focus on the Guidance Notes issued by the Malta Financial Services Authority on the establishment of Shariah-compliant funds in Malta.
