David Zahra & Associates Advocates was represented by Dr David Zahra at the 51st Alliance of Business Lawyers (ABL) Conference, held between 21 and 24 October 2026 at the Hyatt Regency Mexico City, Mexico.
Hosted by Mexican member firm Dayston Consultores, the conference brought together legal professionals from across ABL’s international network to exchange perspectives on developments affecting the legal profession and the global business environment.
The conference programme addressed a range of contemporary issues, including cybersecurity, AI-generated fraud, sustainability, geopolitical developments and the growing influence of artificial intelligence on legal practice. A particular highlight was the keynote presentation by Eric O’Neill, former FBI counterintelligence operative, whose experience in counterespionage provided a distinctive perspective on emerging security threats and corporate espionage.
The programme also featured discussions led by ABL members on practical challenges facing law firms, including the sustainability of traditional billing models, talent management and marketing strategies. These sessions provided an opportunity for member firms to share experiences and exchange ideas on the evolving demands of legal practice.
Beyond the formal sessions, the conference offered valuable opportunities to strengthen professional relationships and explore further avenues for cross-border collaboration, complemented by a cultural programme showcasing Mexico City’s rich history and heritage.
This was also the first ABL conference attended by Dr Zahra since his election to the ABL Board for the 2026–2029 term during the Alliance’s 50th Conference in Vienna earlier this year.
